Pilgrim Congregational UCC

Location:     St. Joseph, MI

The form of the building draws from the history of pilgrims; the main worship center takes the form of a ship's bow, while the soaring bell tower anchors the building to the site and acts as a beacon to the community.

The Chancel, the focus of the worship experience, is in constant view as one approaches the building, traverses the Narthex, and enters the Nave. The Chancel is simple and uncluttered. No element is fixed in place, allowing for variety and creativity in worship. No railing has been placed around the Chancel, a reminder us that God is not separated from us, nor is God limited to any special place.
